i will take this opportunity to talk a bit more about the membership, which tonight's event is a part of, since there seems to be a bit of confusion going around.
the monthly cost of $4 to $6 gives you access to two or three special events as well as a chance to win one of our raffle prizes. on sunday, maggie long won $28 worth of OLO perfume and 5 other members got fun stuff too. i understand that this is a new system and might take a while to make sense to everybody, especially in a city where we're all used to getting our coffee for free and our names on the guest list. this idea of a membership is not about excluding people from events or making a profit, or even about getting everybody to join in, it's about finding a sustainable way for this project to go on. we are trying to stay passionate and optimistic about putting all this inspiring stuff out there and have been told by many people to please continue doing so.
the membership option is for these folks who want more.
and bringing unconventional artists and performers to the table for a different kind of experience is a lot more interesting to us than figuring out the stuff we could sell you that we don't feel really strongly about.
so here we are! let's hope you are excited about our tastes in art and performance, thrilled to be part of this project, and can sympathize about the time and energy it takes to run what looks like such a tiny machine, to give it 100% all the time.
if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at

Yes! Lets embrace a chance to support local small business! Business' that provide us with such great culture - and that I hope, are able to stay open! We easily pay $6 a drink at the bar - or for a movie ticket!
