I Crochet Portland
Jo Hamilton trained originally in drawing and painting at the Glasgow school of Art, in Scotland. More than ten years later she discovered her real medium- yarn.
In this new exhibition, I Crochet Portland, Hamilton unveils a gigantic cityscape, a project she's worked on for the last three years and her first attempt to crochet a painting of sorts.
She is also showing a series which came about as the result of a bet: crochet portraits of the entire staff of Le Pigeon, a local restaurant where she works.

NEMO presents American Blur by May Juliette Barruel and Tamar Monhait, a photo exhibit opening on Friday, March 06, 2009 (6-10pm) with special musical guest, Sigmund Henry.

American Blur examines the images that make-up the "American" consciousness both individually and collectively. Barruel and Monhait exhibit work that creates the feeling of an overwhelming barrage of the social and physical landscapes identified as "American."
